HELP MAKE OUR UNION STRONG - GET INVOLVED! There are many ways to get involved in our union . . attend union meetings, become an area rep, join a union committee, run for an elected position within the union. Here are a few of the places where we need you!
Communications Committee: Communication is critical to us having a strong and active union on this campus. As a union we are committed to keeping members informed about issues in the union, on our campus and affecting public higher education in Massachusetts. In addition to helping on the union website, our chapter is eager to develop a monthly newsletter for our members. We need your help to do this.
Family Issues Committee: In our contract, we have language that calls for the establishment of a new labor/management committee focused on identifying and working on family issues on this campus in an attempt to make this a more family friendly workplace. We will need members to serve on this committee.
Area Rep: The Area Representatives are the "face of the union" in each part of campus, elected by their co-workers. They keep in touch with the other members in their area, letting them know about issues and helping to answer their questions. If your area doesn't have an Area Rep and you are interested in serving in that capacity, let us know!
